I am Unity: Lucia Garzón
Unity at the Initiative: a multi-site visual exhibition and at-home experience centering art by and for Queer and Trans Artists of Color. I am:_____ is a blog series to get to know our partners.
Lucia Garzón is an interdisciplinary artist working in a range of media including but not limited to wood, textiles, print, and video. Lucia graduated from Tyler School of Art in 2018 with a BFA in printmaking. The main themes in Lucia’s work focuses around the intersection between her queerness and the immigrant values and histories she was raised on. Lucia has had the opportunity to be in many group shows and was awarded the Joseph Roberts Foundation grant in 2019 along with a solo show at Da Vinci Art Alliance in July 2019. Lucia has been an apprentice at the Fabric Workshop and Museum, a fellow at Soap Box Print shop, and will be attending Acre Residency in summer 2021.
