Keynote: Angela Garbes

Right after our Community Fair, join us in Asian Arts Initiative's (AAI) Theater for a book talk event with Angela Garbes, author of Like a Mother: A Feminist Journey Through the Science and Culture of Pregnancy, an NPR Best Book of the Year and finalist for the Washington State Book Award in Nonfiction. Angela will be in conversation with AAI Executive Director, Anne Ishii, about the state of motherhood and caregiving in America.

Artist Bio: Angela Garbes is the author of Like a Mother, an NPR Best Book of the Year and finalist for the Washington State Book Award in Nonfiction. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Cut, New York, and featured on NPR's Fresh Air. She also co-hosts the acclaimed podcast The Double Shift,challenging the status quo of motherhood in America. She lives with her family in Seattle.
